Saint Paul Students Have Read 10 Million Books! 10/7/2003 8:40 AM In the fall of 1999, Superintendent Patricia Harvey challenged all Saint Paul students and citizens to read at least 25 books a year. Although the totals for this year won't be in until the end of the school year, to date students have read more than 10 million books! 1999-2000: 1,300,563 books read 2000-2001: 1,553,666 books read 2001-2002: 1,475,491 books read 2002-2003: 1,800,169 books read 2003-2004: 1,688,756 books read
2004-2005: 1,558,087 books read GRAND TOTAL: 9,376,658 books read (and more than 10 million books to date including part of the 2005-06 school year).
